The Canada Greener Homes Loan has ended. This was a program helps lower the upfront cost for Canadians to go solar on their homes with a federally funded interest free loan. Instead there is a new loan program with Alberta’s CEIP program – for more info see our financing page.
The Canada Greener Homes Loan offers interest-free financing to homeowners for various retrofits, including solar panel installations. Homeowners can receive loans from $5,000 to $40,000 to choose retrofits that best suit their needs and budget.
To benefit from the Canada Greener Homes Loan, homeowners must meet the eligibility requirements. Our team can guide homeowners through the process of completing a pre-retrofit evaluation, an essential step in accessing the loan. This assessment helps identify opportunities for solar panel installations and other energy-efficient retrofits that align with their budget and sustainability goals.
We simplify the application process for the Canada Greener Homes Loan, making it easier for homeowners to secure financing. Homeowners can benefit from a streamlined process that integrates solar retrofits seamlessly into their loan application.
A pre-retrofit EnerGuide evaluation is conducted by a service organization to assess the energy performance of the home. This comprehensive analysis identifies areas where energy efficiency can be improved and provides valuable recommendations.
Only retrofits recommended by the energy advisor and listed as eligible retrofits and installations under the grant program are eligible for the loan. We ensure homeowners receive accurate guidance on eligible retrofits to maximize the loan’s benefits.
